Summer Concert in Maquon - 6:00 PM

Summer Concert in the Maquon Village Park!!!  Come for an evening of fun and food.  Terry G. Hall, Southern Gospel's bass soloist and one man quartet, will perform.  Terry's concert will include some old spirituals, classic hymns, southern gospel favorites and some with a country sound.  www.terryghallmusicministry.com  Come early and eat, beginning at 5:00 PM the Maquon Masonic Lodge will be selling pork chop sandwiches and hot dogs.  The Parish Youth will be selling chips, popcorn and drinks.  The Maquon United Methodist Church will be serving homemade apple dumplings, the same apple dumplings that were sold at the Maquon Fire House during the Knox County Scenic Drive last year----Rumor has it ---they are the best!!  Everyone is welcome --- Bring your blankets and lawn chairs.  In case of rain, this event will be held in the Maquon Fellowship Hall.

Big Band Show - 7:30 PM

"Night and Day" Big Band Show to Benefit the National Stearman Fly-In!!  A classic big band show featuring the Prairieland All-Star Big Band under the direction of Dean Petrie and a host of guest singers.  This classic show features a 16-piece big band playing music by great American composers like Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer, Benny Goodman and Glen Miller.  Some of the memorable songs to be performed are Night and Day, The Way You Look Tonight, How High The Moon, Blue Moon, Blue Skies and Come Rain or Shine.  A special feature of the show will be a memorial tribute to Jack Larson who did so much to promote big band music in Galesburg and the region.

Illinois Patriot Guard Proundly Presents The 2010 - GATHERING OF THE GUARD!!!!  A weekend to honor all veterans, past and present and to make people aware of all the services the Patriot Guard has available for Veternas and their families.  Saturday at dusk will be a Flag retirement ceremony, if anyone has flags that need disposed of we will do them, please bring them out any time Friday or Saturday!!  Tributes to Illinois fallen heros, Military displays, Live Music on Friday night by: Matt Poss and the Rolling Thunder Band, they toured Iraq and Afganistan last year playing for our troops.  A rememberance garden with pictures of every fallen soldier in Illinois surrounded  by flags, games for kids, car and bike show, vendors, dunk tank, civil war reenactment and much more.  Bring your family and come out to honor our veterans!!!
